39TH ANNUAL WESTERNATIONALS ANDRA PRO SERIES DRAG RACING EVENT

Setting out on Friday 19th February for our trek from the east coast of Australia to the west coast to compete at the 39th Annual Westernationals ANDRA PRO SERIES drag racing event to be held at the Perth Motorplex on 27th & 28th February 2010.

7 in the bus, 2 in the transporter and 5 flying over.

Upon leaving Ipswich I really wasn't sure we'd make it out of town with all the gear crunching going on and the bus stopping a couple of times.

INTERNATIONAL NEW YEAR SERIES RD 2 - Willowbank Raceway - 16th Jan 2010

Update from mama: Early rise at 5am, on track at 7.30am, with 3 qualifying runs before midday. The Rover showed signs of very consistent performances running 11.77 11.78 and 11.79 seconds over the quarter mile. We had quite a wait before our Super Street Brackets first round of racing at 7.49pm. This saw mama with a .026 reaction and running 11.77 on our 11.76 dial-in for the win. The second round was at 10.12pm and I had a .020 reaction to my opponents .042 but unfortunately mama had brain… Continue

INTERNATIONAL NEW YEAR SERIES ROUND ONE - Willowbank Raceway - 2nd Jan 2010

Quick update from mama with our drag racing - The day commenced for us at 8am with very cloudy conditions with the forecast of showers. Super Street had 3 qualifying passes the first being at 10.11am then 12.27pm and 2.19pm. Rain held up proceedings for at least 2 hours which then led our bracket to have their first round of racing at 10.08pm. Mama's racing at Benaraby Raceway

Latest news from mama: Benaraby Raceway had their end of season drag race meeting on 28th November with a Test'n'Tune format the night before. Mama, Warren, some of the crew and friends decided to make the 7 hour trip to have some fun and compete at this event. Conditions on arriving at the track both days was very hot and dusty. Test'nTune event cancelled!

The afternoon's activities were to be at Willowbank Raceway's Test and Tune event on Sat 26th Sept, but unfortunately this was cancelled due to a slight dust storm in the area. Test Day at the Track!

Well we loaded the race car onto the truck once more and headed out to Willowbank Raceway last night for their Test'n'Tune event. It commenced around 6pm and Mama had 6 passes on the night. I was really rapted with my first two reactions as both were .038 next was .099 then .101 Last pass of the night Warren wanted me to try something different. He had hooked a solenoid up to the accelerater and wanted me to stall the car up, hold my pinky on the button then release when the lights were triggere… Continue

Mazda's first outing

We have just finished our Mazda RX4 with the running gear out of the Cortina in it. BBC 454. The Mazda is about 200lb lighter that the cortina, so should run 9.4's to 9.5 - that was the plan. Every time we took the cortina out with changes made, it never ran the numbers that we thought, so was this going to be another disappointing day? March 8 - 2009 Postponed Due To Bushfires! Bairnsdale Raceway, VIC

I am glad we we're not the only ones that cancelled! Bairnsdale Event Postponed! Victoria's recent horrific bush fires and the traumatic devastation are a national disaster which has truly shocked the nation. There would be few who could say they have been unaffected.
