Hi everyone!
This is an update on last Saturday's Bracket Event held at Willowbank Raceway 21st Nov 2009.
It was a rather interesting meeting to say the least as the third amber on the tree wasn't working and couldn't be fixed on the day.
Track management decided to go ahead with the meeting but no points were to be allocated towards the Track Championship, only trophies given to the finalists.
Racers were given the option of a refund if they wished to leave.
The heat was horrific and after my first qualifying pass I noticed one out of three heat gauges was winding itself off the clock.
I pulled over along the return road. popped the bonnet to check.
Fans still working, no gurgling coming from the radiator and no other signs of any malfunction. I sat for a while to let the car cool then headed back to the paddock area.
After inspection the gauge seemed to be at fault.

I lost in the first round of racing by two thousandths of a second.
OH WELL! There's always next time.

Track management had a minute silence for the sad loss of fellow racer Darren Shephard who was tragically killed in Sydney.
As a show of support the bike riders and their crew gathered together behind the start line.
Racing continued but I think lots had problems with their reaction. Quite a few were red lights or went in the other direction and were .2's and .3's
However some did achieve good reactions and my congratulations to the finalists.
