Hi Tex we are in Willowbank next week. The main thing to remember is that this venue is an ANDRA sanctioned track. We will have Andra scrutinizing on Friday and qualifying on Friday.

The second most important thing is 1320X TV show will be an elimination from all 300 cars to a top 16. The times of the top 16 choosen will be practically the same. So the winner of the event will not necessarily be the fastest car on the day. The race directors will narrow down the field on Friday and Saturday. We anticipate that all cars will be featured either on the 1320X or the behind the scenes show 1320X Out takes.

We also anticipate that each car will get minimum 3 runs for qualifying. Willowbank raceway will be accepting registrations on their website and we will be advising when they are open via email to all our members first.

There will be a cut off as places will fill fast. The cut off is to ensure we are able to film the 2 TV shows in the allocated times on FRIDAY and SATURDAY. The Street Machine Magazine Event on Sunday will also be filmed for 1320X Out Takes and a DVD.

I hope this little bit of information helps.

Regards

Joe

The rules from the meeting in Alice Springs were all Based on ANDRA requirements, but the 1320X rules were come and race, support us and have a great time... Which i did. I travelled the 1400 k's each way to support them and won my very frst event since i started racing 4 years ago. Myself and the other class winners all got nice trophies for our wins, but 5 and a half months on we still have not recieved any of our prize money. None of us are in the sport for the money and to get rich but when you make the effort and actually win its nice to get a little of something for your efforts. By all means go and have a great time but if you win.... Dont leave without your cheque or you'll be getting the same root around me and five others are getting chasing this up. Cheers Baz
The Willowbank qualifying will be DYO and the finals will be heads up racing sticking to the original TV show format from the USA. All feature events will be like this from now on.

Unfortunately the winners of Alice are yet to be paid. THEY WILL BE PAID. The sponsor that signed up for the prize money never paid 1320X. As 1320X is a start up event we have not been able to pay the winners of Alice yet. We are working of this and are confident that the same thing will not happen at Ipswich due to the new sponsor coming on board with the prize money.

Our new sponsor has been informed of the Alice Springs incident and they may be paying that out as well. We just have to wait until everyone gets back to work and get this sorted out.

Hi,
I'm confused and old and blonde....
You say the times of the top 16 "chosen" will be practically the same. What does chosen mean? What is qualifying for if it is to get "chosen". Also, how can qualifying be dyo and the finals be heads up? (per the post from Tat) So, does that mean if you have a fast car or a slow car you will be out? Will it just be the middle runners so that they are all "equal" in times? Is qualifying leading to anything as to whether you get into the final 16 or not? Are all 300 getting down to 16 as the time range will be something from 7 seconds to 13 or so seconds, or would there be classes (if so, how would heads up work in finals?) I would like to think that my efforts in qualifying will get me to the final 16 after travelling 1700 kms, not relying on being "chosen". By the way, I run 8.6 for the 1/4, so heads up would suit me MOST of the time, but not really fair. Sorry for all the questions, but as I said - I'm blonde (and confused)
Hi All,

Okay it is hard to grasp our event as this has never happened in Australia. The 32 car field will be chosen from the closest 32 cars. So this means that it might be the slowest 32 cars, in the middle or the fastest 32. That's what makes this event the fairest event in the country. As all the entries get 3 qualifying rounds and then the field is chosen and the finals begin. So if drivers aren't racing their cars all out in qualifying and then race faster in the finals they will be disqualified.

There is also the fastest 8 of the day and all cars will make the out takes show which is an event coverage show.

There is also an update on Electronics to make it fair for all the drivers. The most common questions asked of the producers at these events in the USA is what time bracket are you looking for. We don't know this as it depends what cars make it to the event. The times have to be very close to make it fair on all the finalists. That is what makes this event unique and Willowbank Raceway staff are the most professional in Australia.

This is a fun day of racing for the racers and the public. It is exciting and when the 32 racers are chosen and called to the start line in front of the crowd it is always fascinating to see the underdogs and pros battle it out.

I suggest you contact Willowbank Raceway for more information. I also want to remind everyone that there is the Street Machine Pro Street and Muscle Car Nationals on the Sunday making it a huge weekend of drag racing at Willowbank Raceway. I hope this helps answer some of your questions and would love to see you at our event. TAT

Thanks for answering Tat,
By reading these rules, it will count me out. 1700 kms is a long way to travel to "maybe" be in the 32 car maybe quick, maybe slow section.
Also, reading the rules, I wouldn't be able to race without a tow car. I think a lot of quicker cars would be in the same boat. We would have to stop at the end of the track, put the chute in the car, then start the car again and drive back. We need that tow back time to be able to cool the cars down. Let alone the fuel costing between $8 and $30 per litre!! Delay boxes are an allowable device under Andra rules and are not something you can just take out of the car. The transbrake (which you allow) is wired through these. Would it be acceptable to set the delay box to zero then have it taped up by an official???
I realise that there would be racing in ET brackets for all other cars, but without a tow car.......
Good luck with the event, and I am sorry that I won't be able to enter. It was a weekend I was looking forward to.
Cheers, Leanne
Hi All

We dont expect drivers to take the delay boxes out. They just need to be taped over. ANDRA scrutineers will advise drivers accordingly. We have discussed all the rules with Willowbank Raceway and they have assured us this is the best way to run our event. It's a shame you can't enter as we love girl racers. They make for great television. TAT
