The Castrol Edge Winternationals 2009 drag racing event has come to a close and also sees the finish of the 2008/09 drag racing season.
I believe I may have ended the season on 5th place in the Rocket Allstars Racing Series. This will be confirmed by ANDRA in the coming weeks.
It was pleasing to see the general public get behind this meeting with the grandstands packed and weren't they in for some fantastic quarter mile passes.
Competition was fierce and there were some major up-sets happening. Some racers hitting the wall, others just red-lighting themselves out of contention and others having problems with their trans- brakes and delay boxes.
Track conditions were perfect for racing most of the time, except when a storm hit on the Friday. This held proceedings up for a couple of hours but thankfully the weather cleared for better racing conditions.
